UPDATE: GAME OFF: Wythenshawe (H)

Table of Contents

After persistent rain this afternoon, we have called a referee in early to inspect the Gigg Lane surface ahead of this evening’s clash with Wythenshawe.

An update will be provided after 5pm once the inspection is completed.

[UPDATE] Unfortunately, tonight’s game against Wythenshawe has had to be postponed. The surface at Gigg Lane is waterlogged.

After the weekend, pitch repairs and remediation works have taken place to get the pitch into a better place to get games on, especially this week with three fixtures to host.

Both isolated repairs and a full pitch verti-drain have not been able to prevent the water rising over this afternoon as persistent rain has fallen and this has left us little time to prepare the pitch ahead of kick-off.

We have provided some images below to show supporters what the groundstaff have been up against.

As always, keep across the latest from the club on the website, X / Twitter & Facebook.
