Match Info: Whickham FC (A), Sat 11th Nov, 3pm KO – FA Vase

Table of Contents

Following a bye through the earlier rounds due to progression last season we finally enter this season’s FA Vase at the Second Round Proper stage.

And what a way to enter with a 300 mile round trip up north to face Whickham FC of the Northern League Division One.

Coach tickets for this Saturday’s game can be purchased here.

Our Northern League based opponents currently sit 15th in their table after winning four, drawing one and losing five of their opening fixtures. Recent postponements due to weather and extended cup runs have reduced the amount of league games played so far.

Overcoming Campion, Birtley Town and in the last round, north west-based Ashton Town earlier in the competition, the Long Jacks are hitting their grove and it will take a special effort to see us into the next round.

Dave McNabb, who is no stranger to FA Vase success after winning it at Wembley with Warrington Rylands back in 2021, won’t be taking the trip lightly as he knows how tough these trips to the North East can be.

In his post match interview following this weekends fantastic win on the road at Kendal, McNabb has the following to say about the upcoming tie.

You can see the full interview on YouTube here.

Speaking of the weekend’s match against Kendal, an Andy Scarisbrick brace and yet another Harry Wright clean sheet, sealed the win as we controlled the game for the majority of the 90 minutes as we start to look like a real force to be reckoned with.

Kendal heaped praise on our fans and club for our excellent behaviour in what turned out to be a great day all round. Our match gallery and highlights from a top day out in the Lakes, can be found below.
