International Call Up for Cherera

We can confirm Alex Cherera has been called up for the Zimbabwe National U20’s Team.

Alex has begun travelling today (Sunday) to meet up with the squad, and as a result will miss the next four games:

  • Tuesday 24th Sept vs Stockport Town (H)
  • Saturday 28th Sept vs Radcliffe (A)
  • Tuesday 1st Oct vs Chadderton (H)
  • Saturday 5th Oct vs Longridge Town (A)


He will take part in three games in COSAFA U20 Challenge Cup, a trophy his country have won six times.


They will play Botswana on Thursday, Eswatini on Saturday and Mozambique the following Monday.


Manager, Dave McNabb said: “I’m really happy for Alex, it’s a massive achievement to be selected to represent your country and it’s just deserved for his excellent start to the season. Good luck Alex.”
