Another Bury Football Club Golf Day took place in September at Bury Golf Club, with a resounding success recorded and extra funds raised for the club in the process.
After many weeks of organising, everything went according to plan on the day. The sun shone down, the Blackford Bridge-based course was in superb condition, the catering excellent and the hospitality first class.
Some late re-organisation of teams was needed, however 16 teams took part in the event, with all the competitors were highly complimentary of how the day was organised.
It was fantastic to see ex-Shakers Tom Kennedy, Matty Barrass and Jason Jarrett taking part. In fact it was Tom’s team, ‘TK All Stars’ (consisting of Tom, Matty and ex-professional footballers Michael Rose and Anthony Pilkington – pictured left) who were the eventual winners of the tournament with an impressive Stableford score of 102.
A massive thank you to the team of volunteers, led by lead organiser Mike Bailey, who worked so hard to put this event on, raising £3,000 in the process.
We also wish to thank our generous sponsors and raffle prize donators who contributed to the success of the day. We can’t wait to invite everyone back to do it all again in 2024.
