Last week we had the pleasure of hosting two football clubs from Chicago on behalf of FTI Sports Ltd – Lindenhurst Area Soccer Club and Chicago KICS Youth Soccer Club.
Hiring Gigg Lane for training sessions, the children loved playing on the pitch and watching from the stands the parents loved hearing the story of Bury’s return to football.
Following the session they flooded into the club shop to buy memorabilia of their trip from football tops and hoodies to pin badges and an abundance of our scarves and bobble hats to take back to Chicago for the winter.
In the days that followed they played fixtures vs our Under 13s, Under 12s and Under 10s A & B teams, with some of the games streamed across the pond!
